For 20 years Gehman was immersed as an actress in New York Theater, working at Joseph Papp's Public Theater, Circle Repertory Theater, Manhattan Theater Club, The Second Stage and many other noteworthy Off Broadway venues. She was featured in a number of movies including The Flamingo Kid, The Legend of Billy Jean, FX, The Father of the Bride, Practical Magic and numerous independents.
She has worked closely with award winning directors John Madden, Garry Marshall and Michael Blakemore, to name a few.
